Confirm the municipality first
“Miami” is used loosely in housing searches. Miami Beach, Coral Gables, Doral, Hialeah, North Miami and Aventura are separate municipalities. Before asking for parking, waste or local building information, establish which government serves the property. A listing's marketing label should not decide which office you contact.
Ask the building before opening accounts
Your lease or association documents should identify the services you pay directly and those handled through the building. For electricity, FPL's start-service page provides the account setup route where applicable. Confirm water billing, internet access and technician appointments with the landlord or manager. Keep activation dates aligned with the day you receive possession.
Moving boxes need an actual disposal plan
For City of Miami municipal information, use Solid Waste. In a shared building, ask where cardboard goes and how bulky items are arranged. Do not assume the collection rules for a single-family house apply to a condo's loading area or private waste contractor.
Save two different kinds of contact
Keep the building's urgent maintenance number alongside the ordinary repair process, then save the relevant local government service page. Separately review county emergency information for storm preparation and official updates. A property manager, a utility and a municipal department solve different problems; identifying them before the move prevents a small failure from becoming a long search for the right person.
