The African American Military History Museum occupies a historic USO building in Hattiesburg.

Its displays connect the experiences of Black service members with local history and the role of the building as a wartime community space.
Public opening is limited to advertised sessions, so check the museum’s visitor page before arriving at East Sixth Street. Exhibits can be explored independently, while guided visits should be arranged in advance. The photograph shows the museum exterior and an outdoor military-vehicle display rather than the current indoor layout. Give the collection time for a thoughtful visit.
