American Fork Historic District preserves a varied downtown landscape of homes, churches and civic buildings.

The Alpine Stake Tabernacle, shown in the photograph, is one of the architectural landmarks within the district and provides a useful starting point for looking at the town’s development.
Use the National Register district documentation to plan an exterior walk along public streets. The designated area extends across several downtown blocks rather than a single museum property. Most homes and other working buildings have independent access arrangements. Historic status does not authorize entry to gardens or interiors. Check current crossings and street conditions before choosing your route.
Visitor details reviewed October 26, 2026. Check official visitor information for current access, admission, and operating arrangements. View on OpenStreetMap.
