Ashtabula Lift Bridge carries a road across the river in the city’s harbor district.

Its movable bascule structure connects everyday transport with the working maritime landscape of the lower Ashtabula River.
The photograph shows the bridge raised. Use designated public pedestrian areas and obey barriers during bridge movements. Stay clear of traffic, machinery and working docks, and do not assume the structure can be crossed while boats are passing. Check current local access notices and use safe harbor-side viewpoints rather than climbing bridge elements for photographs.
