Athens Courthouse Square Commercial Historic District

Storefronts and public buildings show how trade and county government shaped the town’s streets and gathering spaces.

Walk on public sidewalks and compare upper stories, building materials and entrances around the square. The photograph shows part of the district. Shops, offices and courthouse functions have separate access and security arrangements; district status does not imply museum interiors. Check current visitor information for events and street changes, and leave working entrances and crossings unobstructed.
