Camp Pine Woods protects woodland and other natural habitats along the Des Plaines River corridor near Mount Prospect.

Public trails connect this forest preserve with a much longer regional route for walking and cycling.
The photograph shows the river trail through the woods during an earlier visit. The preserve’s name reflects its history; overnight camping should not be assumed. Use current Forest Preserves maps to locate parking and choose a route. Picnic-grove reservations have separate arrangements, and portable restroom availability is seasonal. Keep dogs leashed, share paths considerately and check trail conditions before a longer outing.
