Chewacla State Park offers wooded trails, a small lake and a waterfall on the southern side of Auburn.

The mix of water and forest makes it a useful outdoor destination close to the university city, with opportunities ranging from a short walk to a longer park outing.
Choose an activity and route using Alabama State Parks’ current maps and visitor information. Trail difficulty and permitted uses vary, and water access should follow posted conditions. Check day-use, camping and cabin arrangements separately before traveling. The park rewards time spent exploring the landscape beyond the best-known waterfall viewpoint.
