Conestee Nature Preserve protects wetland and woodland habitat in the Greenville area.

Trails and boardwalks introduce visitors to a landscape important for birds and other wildlife amid the surrounding urban development.
Use the current preserve map and access notices before choosing a route. Fishing, boating and swimming are prohibited because of legacy contamination in the lake sediments. The photograph shows a waterbird beside wetland vegetation rather than guaranteed wildlife sightings. Stay on authorized trails, follow the rules for dogs and bicycles and arrange organized groups or professional photography under the operator’s separate requirements.
