Davis Subway, better known as the Richards Boulevard Underpass, preserves a historic gateway into downtown Davis.

Built in 1917 beneath the railroad, the structure forms part of the city’s heritage bicycle tour.
The photograph shows the underpass and its pedestrian approach during an earlier visit. This is an active transport passage, so use designated walking or cycling routes and keep clear of road and railway traffic. The city’s historic-tour information explains the bridge’s significance. Check current construction or access notices before arriving, and combine a brief exterior visit with an authorized route through downtown.
