Elk Rock Garden preserves a historic landscaped estate setting in Dunthorpe beside the Willamette River.

Winding paths and layered planting create a horticultural destination near Portland and Lake Oswego.
The privately owned nonprofit garden normally welcomes public visitors on weekdays and closes on major holidays. Check current arrangements before arrival, as weekend access is not routine. Paths are brick and gravel, parking is limited and there are no public restrooms. The photograph shows a garden path during an earlier season. Follow the garden’s restrictions on dogs, picnics and organized photography.
