For-Mar Nature Preserve and Arboretum in Burton combines wetlands, fields, woodland and cultivated tree collections.
Trails and nature interpretation offer several ways to explore the former farm landscape.
The photograph shows an actual wetland within the preserve. Use the county’s current trail map and visitor information before arriving on North Genesee Road. Grounds and visitor-center hours differ, and scheduled programs can require advance registration. For-Mar is a pet-free and smoke-free facility. Stay on designated routes, protect the planted collections and wildlife, and confirm separate opening arrangements for particular features such as the treehouse or butterfly programs.
