The Gateway Arch, landscaped riverfront grounds, a history museum, and the Old Courthouse form this downtown St. Louis national park.

Gateway Arch National Park combines a monumental skyline landmark with a wider visit to St. Louis history and the Mississippi riverfront. The Arch rises above landscaped grounds, with a history museum beneath it and the Old Courthouse forming another major part of the park. The experience extends beyond taking a photograph of the steel structure.
Decide whether the tram ride to the top is central to your plans. It requires a separate ticket, while the museums at the Arch and Old Courthouse are free. An outdoor walk through the grounds can be combined with exhibits about the region’s role in United States history. Families can also ask about Junior Ranger activities rather than treating the park solely as an observation-point visit.
Allow extra time before a booked tram departure for arrival and security screening. Check the National Park Service’s current operating information and accessibility guidance, especially when coordinating the courthouse, museum, and tram. Their hours and access arrangements differ, and a reservation for one activity should not be treated as access to every attraction.
