Hampton Heights Historic District preserves a residential streetscape close to downtown Spartanburg.

Its houses show the variety of forms and decorative detail associated with the city’s growth around the turn of the twentieth century.
Explore from public sidewalks and consider the neighborhood as a living community. The photograph shows the Irwin House, one building within the district. Homes, gardens and porches remain private unless explicitly opened for an event. Keep entrances clear and avoid photographing residents closely; any organized house tour has separate dates and access arrangements.
