Hempstead Lake State Park combines large waterside landscapes with trails, recreation facilities and an environmental education center.
Its grounds extend through the Lakeview and West Hempstead area, offering several ways to plan an outdoor visit.
Use the current state-park map to choose an entrance and check separate hours for the education center, courts and seasonal attractions. The photograph shows an earlier lake-and-dam view rather than a swimming area. Stay within authorized paths and follow current water-use rules instead of assuming that every shoreline activity is permitted.
