Hollywood Walk of Fame

Hollywood’s star-lined public sidewalks honor performers and creators across entertainment, with an official directory for finding individual stars.

Hollywood Walk of Fame

The Hollywood Walk of Fame turns the sidewalks of Hollywood Boulevard and Vine Street into a record of entertainment history. The stars are part of a working city streetscape, so a visit combines looking for familiar names with the bustle of Hollywood’s shops, theaters, and passing crowds. It works well as a self-directed walk with a few specific stops in mind.

Use the official star directory and map to locate the people you want to find before arriving. Stars are distributed across multiple blocks, and a favorite performer’s plaque may be some distance from the busiest tourist corners. Planning a short route makes the experience more satisfying than walking at random while scanning every name underfoot.

The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce administers the awards and publishes official announcements for new-star ceremonies. If attending a ceremony is part of the plan, check its announced address and timing rather than assuming it takes place at a single central stage. Keep pedestrian crossings and other sidewalk users in mind when stopping for photographs, especially on crowded stretches of the boulevard.
