Honeymoon Island State Park protects beach, pine woodland and coastal habitat west of Dunedin.

A visit can combine Gulf views with wildlife observation along designated routes away from the busiest shoreline areas.
Check current alerts before traveling: the park reports flooding-related parking closures and a tidal cut separating the northernmost sandspit. The photograph shows an earlier coastal view. Do not attempt to cross the cut or treat historical beach access as a current safe route. Follow posted closures, designated pet areas and current swimming guidance.
