Kentucky’s Old State Capitol in Frankfort preserves the Greek Revival building where legislators debated slavery, war and the state’s political direction during the nineteenth century.

Its surviving assembly spaces and stone stairway connect architecture with public decision-making.
Check current Kentucky Historical Society admission and tour guidance before arriving. The photograph shows the building. Restoration work currently limits access to some areas, so confirm the rooms or tour experience important to your visit. The modern state capitol is a separate property; group bookings and accessible routes require their own planning.
