Lowell Observatory combines active astronomical research with public experiences on Flagstaff’s Mars Hill.

Historic telescope buildings and newer visitor facilities connect the observatory’s scientific legacy with opportunities to learn about the sky.
Choose a visit using the current program, checking which tours, talks and telescope experiences are available. Night-sky viewing depends on weather and observing conditions, so it should not be treated as a guaranteed view of particular objects. Dress for Flagstaff’s elevation and evening temperatures, and allow time for historical interpretation as well as any observing session.
