Mahoney Park is a wildflower preserve and bird sanctuary in Kenilworth, designed by landscape architect Jens Jensen in the 1930s.

Native plantings, small meadows and limestone council circles reflect his approach to creating an outdoor setting for nature study.
Explore the designated paths and observe the planting layers rather than walking into habitat areas. The park district explains the sanctuary’s history and the continuing stewardship of the Kenilworth Home and Garden Club. Bird activity and wildflowers vary through the year. The photograph shows a path within this Kenilworth sanctuary. The site is sometimes inconsistently named in map data; the park district identifies it as Mahoney Park.
