- San Juan Capistrano
Mission San Juan Capistrano preserves gardens, surviving mission buildings and the ruins of a large stone church.

Its interpretation connects architectural remains with the lives of Indigenous Acjachemen people and the changes brought by Spanish mission colonization.
Check current admission, programs and access arrangements before arriving. The photograph shows part of the mission complex. Historic masonry, worship spaces and garden paths have different restrictions, and special events can change ordinary access. Follow staff guidance, respect religious use and consider guided interpretation to understand the site beyond its familiar postcard views.
