Mississippi State Capitol

- Jackson
Mississippi State Capitol is Jackson's current seat of state government, with a domed building and public interpretation of its architecture and legislative role.

It is the newer capitol on High Street, distinct from the Old Capitol building elsewhere downtown. A scheduled tour offers a fuller visit than viewing the exterior alone.
Use the official 400 High Street address, since some map tags carry an inconsistent address. Check current weekday tour and self-guided visiting arrangements before arriving. Legislative business can affect access and parking, and groups should reserve through Visitor Services rather than assume a tour space is available.
Visitor details reviewed October 18, 2026. Check official visitor information for current access, admission, and operating arrangements. View on OpenStreetMap.
