Nissequogue River State Park protects river-mouth landscapes and public grounds in Kings Park.

Its setting on Long Island’s north shore provides opportunities to appreciate the river, shoreline and the area’s changing land use.
Consult current state park maps, opening information and alerts before choosing a route. The photograph shows the Nissequogue River meeting Long Island Sound during an earlier visit rather than today’s tide or water conditions. Use designated recreation areas and stay out of closed former institutional buildings. Boating, organized activities and special events have separate arrangements from ordinary access to open park grounds.
Visitor details reviewed October 18, 2026. Check official visitor information for current access, admission, and operating arrangements. View on OpenStreetMap.
