Palm Springs Visitor Center occupies the former Tramway Gas Station, a desert-modernist landmark designed by Albert Frey with Robson Chambers.

Its dramatic soaring canopy makes the building an architectural stop as well as a practical place to begin exploring the city.
The photograph shows the actual visitor-center building. Visit during current service hours for maps, local guidance and the gift shop, or view the exterior from permitted public approaches. This is the North Palm Canyon Drive center, distinct from the downtown library information desk. Palm Springs Aerial Tramway tickets are handled separately; the visitor center can provide directions but does not sell them.
Visitor details reviewed October 26, 2026. Check official visitor information for current access, admission, and operating arrangements. View on OpenStreetMap.
