Petaluma Historical Library and Museum occupies a former Carnegie library at Fourth and B Streets.

Its historic architecture and changing exhibitions provide a setting for exploring the city’s communities, cultural life and local history.
Admission is free, and the museum normally opens Thursday through Sunday; check current notices for changes, including special event days. Research-library access is by appointment and should be arranged separately from an exhibition visit. Allow time to appreciate the building as well as the displays, and confirm any lecture, performance or group-tour arrangements in advance.
Visitor details reviewed October 18, 2026. Check official visitor information for current access, admission, and operating arrangements. View on OpenStreetMap.
