Proud Lake Recreation Area in Commerce Township protects woodland and waterside landscapes along the Huron River.
Trails, campground facilities and designated water access support several different kinds of outdoor visit.
Use the state’s current map and advisories when choosing a route or activity. The photograph shows an actual wooded trail. Camping, lodging, paddling and reserved facilities have arrangements separate from a day walk, and vehicle entry can require a Recreation Passport. The operator posts fish-consumption and foam advisories for the river system, so review those before planning fishing or water activities. Respect trail-use designations and habitat protections.
