Quarry Lakes Regional Recreation Area in Fremont combines former quarry lakes with walking routes, wildlife viewing and managed recreation.

Open water and views toward the hills create a distinctive East Bay outdoor landscape.
The photograph shows an actual view across the recreation area toward Mission Peak. The 2026 swim season has ended, and current blue-green algae advisories require particular care around the lakes. Check the park district’s latest conditions before any water activity. Boating inspections, fishing permits, swimming admission and parking have separate requirements. Some lakes prohibit water contact entirely. Choose a suitable land route using the current map and posted notices.
Visitor details reviewed October 26, 2026. Check official visitor information for current access, admission, and operating arrangements. View on OpenStreetMap.
