Working studios and former warehouses along the French Broad River.
Asheville’s River Arts District is a creative corridor of working artist studios, businesses and former warehouses beside the French Broad River. Its industrial buildings and riverside setting give it a different character from Downtown.
The city’s riverfront project added public spaces, sidewalks, bicycle facilities and the Wilma Dykeman Greenway within this wider landscape. Hurricane Helene recovery continues to affect individual sites and recreation routes. Current business and city notices identify access at a particular studio, building or riverfront segment, rather than a district-wide promise that every site is open.
