Saltwater State Park in Des Moines provides a Puget Sound shoreline setting with beach, forest and marine habitat.

A shore walk or a carefully planned diving visit offers different ways to experience this state park close to the Seattle area.
The campground is closed while projects address flooding and erosion impacts. Check current park alerts before travelling and follow any temporary access routes. The photograph shows the actual shoreline. A Discover Pass is required for vehicle access, while underwater activities need their own preparation. Tide, weather and marine conditions affect the experience; do not assume that all facilities described on older maps remain available.
Visitor details reviewed October 26, 2026. Check official visitor information for current access, admission, and operating arrangements. View on OpenStreetMap.
