Sauk County Historical Society’s History Center occupies the former Island Woolen Company office building in Baraboo.

The setting links the county’s historical collections with a surviving piece of local industrial architecture, offering a more focused research and interpretation stop than a general visitor center.
Check the society’s current public opening days and arrange research or a special visit in advance where needed. The History Center and the society’s separate museum property have different locations and access arrangements. The photograph shows the former office building that houses the center, not the other museum site.
