- Evanston
Shakespeare Garden is a small enclosed garden on Northwestern University’s Evanston campus.

Its planting draws on flowers and herbs associated with Shakespeare’s writing, while the design provides a quiet contrast to the surrounding academic buildings.
Visit slowly enough to notice the plants and the garden’s intimate layout rather than expecting a large botanical collection. Check current visitor guidance and respect private events or ceremonies when they are taking place. The garden is best combined with a wider campus walk, with university parking and building access treated as separate arrangements.
Visitor details reviewed October 18, 2026. Check official visitor information for current access, admission, and operating arrangements. View on OpenStreetMap.
