Sunny Brook State Park protects a wooded recreation landscape in Torrington.

Trails connect wetlands and forest areas, offering a quieter outing within the wider network of parks and woodland north of the city.
Choose an open route from the current state park information and check trail conditions before setting out. The photograph shows the Madden Wetlands area, one part of the park. Paths may be muddy, rocky or difficult to follow in changing weather. Stay on marked routes, respect wildlife and arrange any activity requiring permits separately from an ordinary day walk.
