Tupelo National Battlefield commemorates fighting during the 1864 Civil War campaign in northern Mississippi.

Tupelo National Battlefield

The small preserved memorial area offers interpretation of the battle and the military pressures surrounding Union supply routes.

Plan this as a brief outdoor historical stop rather than a large battlefield driving tour or staffed museum. The photograph shows the memorial setting within the preserved unit. Read the on-site interpretation, including the role of United States Colored Troops, and distinguish the present park boundary from the much wider area where fighting occurred. Follow current National Park Service alerts and use permitted public parking.
