West Virginia State Museum explores the state’s history within the Culture Center at Charleston’s capitol complex.

Its displays connect natural resources, community life and major historical changes in an indoor interpretive setting.
Check current museum opening days and group arrangements before visiting; ordinary public hours exclude Sundays and major holidays. Museum admission and access to the neighboring State Capitol are separate experiences. The photograph shows the Culture Center exterior rather than the current gallery displays. Use the official arrival guidance and arrange school or organized tours in advance.
