Wood Island Lighthouse off Biddeford preserves a light-station landscape at the approach to the Saco River.

Its island setting connects the tower and keeper buildings with the history of navigation along Maine’s coast.
The photograph shows the lighthouse and surrounding shore. Public island visits depend on authorized seasonal boat tours, reservations and weather; there is no ordinary road approach. Check the current tour operation and landing requirements before traveling. Grounds, buildings and tower access may differ, and visitors should remain on permitted routes and respect active navigational equipment.
