About Strawberry Hill

Strawberry Hill is a bluffside neighborhood beside downtown Kansas City, Kansas. Central Avenue has eateries, Splitlog Avenue includes apartments, and Main Library is nearby on Minnesota Avenue.

Strawberry Hill sits beside downtown KCK, above the river confluence

Strawberry Hill occupies the bluffs beside downtown Kansas City, Kansas, overlooking the meeting of the Kansas and Missouri rivers. Its neighborhood association works with residents, property owners and businesses on preservation and community projects.

Central Avenue adds taquerias, bakeries and other family-run eateries to the residential setting. Visit Kansas City Kansas also identifies Strawberry Hill as a nightlife district.

City View at Splitlog lists laundry hookups in both apartment sizes

City View at Splitlog, at 516 Splitlog Avenue, advertises one- and two-bedroom apartments. Both floor-plan pages list hardwood floors, stainless appliances, private balconies or patios and washer/dryer hookups. Supplied laundry machines are not specified.

The operator’s homepage and one-bedroom page show different starting rents, so a single current price cannot be established from those pages. Leasing is available at 913-269-6723.

Central Avenue’s river crossing is part of a replacement project

The Unified Government’s January 2026 announcement says the Central Avenue bridge over the Kansas River closed in spring 2021. It distinguishes that river bridge from the separate I-70 and Union Pacific Railroad bridges, which were open when the announcement was issued.

The same announcement gives late 2028 as the earliest possible timing for construction bids. That is a bid milestone, not a promised reopening date. A resident travelling toward the West Bottoms cannot treat this planned replacement as an available Central Avenue river crossing.

Main Library offers evening hours and printing in downtown KCK
