Ansel B. Cook House in central Libertyville preserves a nineteenth-century home that later served as the community library.

Period furnishings and local-history displays introduce the Cook family and the development of the surrounding village.
The Libertyville Historical Society offers seasonal open houses and private tours by appointment. Outside advertised dates, request a tour with at least a week’s notice so a volunteer guide can be arranged. The photograph shows the actual house exterior. Check current admission and access details rather than using the neighboring library’s opening hours: library access does not mean the historic house is open for tours.
Visitor details reviewed October 26, 2026. Check official visitor information for current access, admission, and operating arrangements. View on OpenStreetMap.
