Blue Sky Ecological Reserve protects a canyon landscape of chaparral, oak woodland and streamside habitat in Poway.

Its trails offer opportunities for hiking, birdwatching and learning about the plants and animals of inland San Diego County.
The photograph shows the actual main entrance trail. Use the reserve map to choose a route and check current conditions before starting, especially during hot weather. Some connections climb toward neighboring lakes and require more time and water. Bicycles are excluded, and dogs and horses have additional restrictions on sensitive trails. Docent programs and group activities have separate arrangements. Stay on designated paths and leave wildlife undisturbed.
Visitor details reviewed October 26, 2026. Check official visitor information for current access, admission, and operating arrangements. View on OpenStreetMap.
