Buckhorn Island State Park protects a wetland and riverside landscape at the northern end of Grand Island.

Its quieter setting offers a nature-focused alternative to the developed sightseeing areas around Niagara Falls.
Choose an authorized route using the current state-park map and check conditions before walking or planning a permitted water-based activity. The photograph shows Woods Creek during an earlier visit rather than the entire island or present water levels. Wetland habitat and river currents require respect for posted boundaries. Keep to public trails and confirm any seasonal restrictions.
