Dillon Home Museum preserves a richly furnished Italianate residence beside the Rock River in Sterling.
Associated with the Dillon family and Northwestern Steel and Wire, the house connects domestic architecture with the city’s industrial history.
Interior visits take place on scheduled guided tours rather than unrestricted entry. Check the park district’s current tour times, admission and appointment arrangements before arriving on East Third Street. The photograph shows the house exterior during an earlier visit.
