Its open slopes and wooded sections provide a more exposed mountain outing than a level neighborhood walk.

Plan access carefully using Midpen’s current directions: roadside parking is limited, and a designated parking area requires a permit. Check current trail notices and the rules for your chosen activity. The photograph looks from the preserve toward the developed valley below, rather than showing a city park. Bring water and sun protection, and stay on authorized routes through the protected landscape.
