Fort Mose Historic State Park in St.

Augustine interprets an early legally recognized free African settlement in what became the United States. Marshland, exhibits and a reconstructed fort help explain freedom, military service and community life in Spanish Florida.
The photograph shows the landscape before the fort reconstruction opened in 2025. Check current admission, fort programs and boardwalk access before arriving. Stay on designated paths and distinguish reconstructed buildings from surviving archaeological remains. Allow time for historical interpretation as well as wildlife observation, and arrange groups through the park.
Visitor details reviewed October 18, 2026. Check official visitor information for current access, admission, and operating arrangements. View on OpenStreetMap.
