Fort Taber Park
- Waterfront park
- Regional draw
- New Bedford
Fort Taber Park combines open coastal space with the substantial remains of Fort Rodman at New Bedford’s southern tip.

Views over Buzzards Bay and the fort’s stone walls give the park a character distinct from the city’s downtown maritime district.
Plan for an outdoor walk and bring layers for exposed waterfront conditions. The park and its historic fort are different visiting experiences: do not assume the fort interior is open simply because the surrounding park is accessible. Check city information and the historical association’s program if you want to visit a museum or join a scheduled activity.
Visitor details reviewed October 18, 2026. Check official visitor information for current access, admission, and operating arrangements. View on OpenStreetMap.
