Franny Reese State Park occupies wooded land above the Hudson River at Highland, opposite Poughkeepsie.

Its paths connect overlooks and traces of an earlier estate landscape, offering an outdoor perspective on the river and nearby bridges.
Use the current park map to select a route and trailhead. The photograph shows part of the park’s wooded river setting. Paths can be steep or uneven, and fallen leaves, rain or winter conditions affect footing. Stay on designated public routes and respect protected ruins and neighboring property. Check seasonal notices before combining the walk with another Hudson crossing.
