Hayward Shoreline Interpretive Center provides a starting point for learning about San Francisco Bay's tidal wetlands and shoreline habitats.

Exhibits and nature programs connect the building with nearby trails and the changing waterside landscape. Its location near the San Mateo-Hayward Bridge makes it a distinct southern access point for shoreline exploration.
Check the center's limited current opening days before planning an indoor visit. Trail access and registered programs have separate arrangements, so confirm the experience you want in advance. Stay on established shoreline routes to protect nesting and feeding wildlife, and bring layers for exposed bay weather.
