Hines Park follows the Middle Rouge River through western Wayne County, connecting wooded recreation areas, lawns and paths along Edward Hines Drive.

Westland provides access to this much larger park corridor, whose changing river scenery makes it useful for a walk, a ride or an unhurried picnic.
Choose a recreation area and parking point before setting out rather than treating the entire park as a single entrance. River flooding can affect roads and paths, so consult Wayne County notices before travelling. The photograph shows autumn color beside the parkway; foliage varies through the season.
