Historic Hamtramck Stadium preserves an important site of Negro Leagues baseball.

The ballpark connects the community’s recreation landscape with the Detroit Stars and the players who competed before professional baseball’s racial barriers began to fall.
The photograph shows an earlier condition of the grandstand before later restoration work. The surrounding recreation district continues to evolve, so use current conservancy information for public access, programs and any restricted work areas. Do not assume the historic stand is freely open inside. Check announced events and tours before travelling, and confirm accessibility and which parts of the stadium can be visited.
