The Idaho Botanical Garden brings themed planting spaces and garden walks to Boise's foothill edge near the Old Idaho Penitentiary.

It offers a way to explore cultivated plants and the changing seasons without leaving the city, with educational programs and special events adding different reasons to return.
Use the current visitor map rather than relying on an older route: the garden has begun opening parts of its expansion, and arrival arrangements are changing. The usual parking lot is temporarily closed, with visitors directed toward the Table Rock Trailhead parking area behind the Warden's House. Check current access before traveling.
Visitor details reviewed October 17, 2026. Check official visitor information for current access, admission, and operating arrangements. View on OpenStreetMap.
