John Bright Number 1 Iron Bridge

John Bright No. 1 Iron Bridge preserves an unusual nineteenth-century metal span on the Ohio University Lancaster campus.

Originally a county road bridge, it was dismantled, moved and restored for a new setting near the separate John Bright covered bridge.
The two bridges can be compared during a single campus walk: this listing identifies the exposed iron structure rather than its wooden neighbor. Follow university guidance for public routes and visitor parking. The photograph shows the restored metal trusses; neither historic bridge should be treated as a vehicle crossing.
