The Keeper of the Plains stands where the Arkansas and Little Arkansas rivers meet in Wichita.

Created by Kiowa-Comanche artist Blackbear Bosin, the steel sculpture anchors a public space that connects the river landscape with Native American history and the continuing significance of this place.
Approach on foot across the nearby pedestrian bridges and allow time for the interpretation around the sculpture. The Ring of Fire operates only when conditions and the posted schedule allow; it should not be assumed to run on every visit. Check current visitor guidance if the evening lighting is central to your plans.
