Mission Trails Regional Park protects a broad landscape of hills, canyons and river habitat within San Diego.

A substantial trail network connects natural viewpoints with cultural history, including the Old Mission Dam and interpretation of Kumeyaay life.
The photograph shows the actual park’s chaparral landscape. Use current maps to choose an entrance and a route matched to your fitness, checking trail and pipeline-project notices before setting out. Exposed hills require water and suitable weather planning. The visitor center, reservoir and campground have separate operating arrangements. Stay on designated trails and respect habitat restoration areas and closures.
Visitor details reviewed October 26, 2026. Check official visitor information for current access, admission, and operating arrangements. View on OpenStreetMap.
